CARTOONS... AN ILLUSTRATORS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY

So blogging... hmm, I really have no idea how to do this, a complete novice, so please forgive my lack of understanding. I'm a cartoonist, of sort, not my full time job but I love to draw cartoons so I'd like it to be. With that in mind I built a little website, but as I'm learning, it's getting people to see it that's the hard part. I was told by someone with a better understanding than me that a blog helps drive people to your site, so I'm giving it a go. But before I go further, grammar is not a strong point, so please don't expect War and Peace, more like Meg and Mog.

I grew up drawing for fun, no games consoles or box sets in my day, no you made your own entertainment. fast forward to present day I'm still illustrating, it's just the process is different. Now I draw on a tablet and instead of sticking my art on my wall, I now upload my creations to Instagram.

So my blog will be, fingers crossed, will be a fun look at my art, sharing some of my latest work. I will try and show how I create my cartoon characters, with some sketching, outlines, colour and shading. I may even throw in some videos. I usually create my drawings on an Ipad Pro with an apple pen. I use Procreate, a legendary little app which is so easy to work with and gives great results. Also has the added bonus of built in time-lapse recording.

So by way of a taster, here is a recent cartoon of the brilliant TV drama 'Last of Us'. I will be back soon.
